Yes, many many times over.

Bose is not as great as you think it is. An aftermarket head unit will make the Bose system sound better than the Bose HU itself.

What would I use to get the orginal steering wheel controls to work with an after market pioneer double din nav?

I see you do alot of work like this, how hard is it to install a double din nav?

A module called a PAC SWI-PS.

For me - no sweat. For a noob, it *could* get hairy.

i have heard some mixed reviews on them... i have heard they take a little while to boot up and is it true that you need to have the navigation CD at all times to use the navigation?

Search on Pioneer's website to find a model that matches your needs. "Best" is different for each person.

I can't say much about the load times, or the necessity for DVD at all times because some models are different (I think)
