skipping....someone help

Hey guys,
heres the scoop, i just changed my plugs figuring this was doing it. it wasnt...when the car is driving (warm or cold) and im at a steady speed the car skips(misses) until i take my foot off the pedal the reaccerlerate.also when i "get on it" it will go to about 4000 rpms, then hold that for about 20 seconds or so before shifting but the car does not gain any speed...can someone help me with this please?

Coil going bad maybe?
Any SES lights or were any of the plugs "weathered" more than the others?

No my other plugs were iridium and 5 months old. All in good shape. You think bad coil huh? How do I figure out what coil it is?

sounds like a maf problem. Clean it up first with a maf sensor cleaner and if that doesn't help, replace it.

My car shifts fine at any rpm except 4000. More or less its skipping at cruising speeds and under load uphill anyone else got ideas? How do I test the coils to see if they are bad?

When I say misfiring I mean it skips and sputters at any idle speed
