is tis exhaust setup good?

this is the y pipe and the cat converter
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WARPS...mZ290112235982

and for the exhaust i'll be buying the megan racing with muffler and the midpipe (3 piece kit) or the OBX one (potatoes shooter muffler)

not looking for the best coz i'm a little short of money how every my dad said he'll pay for it.

also i don't have the car with me now so how many cat converters are there i can't really remember coz i remember there's one after the flex pipt then another one after like a foot

Next time do a search but the answer is yes. Warpspeed and Cattman are the most popular choices in Y-pipes for our cars. Cattman offers better quality and Warpspeed offers better value.

If your car is cali-spec, which I assume it is, there are three cats (a precat in the manifold, a precat in the Y-pipe and full cat after the Y-pipe). The cali-spec aftermarket Y-pipe eliminates the precat on the Y-pipe.

It should sound good, but IIRC the Megan catbacks are on back order, and OBX is garbage.

http://forums.maxima.org/group-deals...k-exhaust.html

This guy has the Megan Cat-back for 347$ shipped. (Or 287$ local pickup in Cali, which would be sweet)

Yep.

I'm currently looking to replace my whole exhaust. I also don't have a bunch of money to spend, and am looking at the OBX header/y-pipe combo, which is only 100$ more than the Y-Pipe you are looking at. From what I've read, the most gains are had from replacing the headers on our cars. So why not spend the extra 100$ and get the OBX Header/Ypipe combo since you are already looking to do everything else.

Ahh, forgot about the Cat, I will most likely be using the OEM one, because mine is still in good shape.

Get some PB blaster, they sell it at AutoZone. And all the nuts are 10x1.25, your gonna need a few of those (8-12 I don't remember the exact #).

doubt pb blaster will work man, it took me 2 cans of wd40 to spray on the nuts holding the rear bumper than the heads on the nuts are inside but still the heads broke off so i'd imagine what it will be to take those off

PB blaster is meant for rust, WD-40 isn't. It helps if the car is warmed up as well. It worked fine for me on my '96 when I installed my Warpspeed Y-pipe.
