well after changing my spark plugs on my 2002 maxima, the car started idling a little higher than normal and surges a bit after a lil acceleration(very minimal) but feels fine going at high speeds and accelerating quickly.

what is the normal idle speed anyway? any help solutions? thanks guys

With MT: 625 +/-50rpm; With AT: 675 +/-50rpm. You probably need to perform the following procedures:

If you have any codes eg.p0507 and so on, get them cleared first. The idle relearn procedure should work after that.

 

Also make sure you're using the proper plugs. Go with NGK. Not sure of the model number, do a quick search.

 

yeah I put in brand new NGK lasers ( was going to do Iridiums but they were sold out)

someone mentioned getting new gaskets and trying to seal it down with rtv sealant and seeing if that takes care of it.......
that what im going to try next because i have checked and double checked all of my hose and contact points and no air leaks....

 

Try checking your coils, performing relearn procedures to start with

 

check your alternator.
