Weird problem
So earlier today I was bored and made a frankencar style intake. I just ran the stock vacuum tube off the block and then put a small breather on the end of it sine I didn't have the tube coming off the midpipe for it. Well I drove around fine and I was in the drive thru to get some food and all of a sudden my SES light came on, I figured it was the intake but then I looked at my heat gauge and it was all the way to H and so I shut the car off and let it cool down and then I went to a gas station and figured out that my fans aren't working even whenever I turn the A/C on and my clutch isn't engaging on the condenser. So I thought WTF . So then when I got home I checked the code and pulled a P1800 which I looked up and is for the VIAS Solenoid Valve...I have an SSIM without the VIAS in it and I have had it this way for over a year now, so why did it throw this code and why the heck would my fans just quit working??? Please if anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks.

Alright, I'll have to check that...so does anyone have any idea why the fans/ac would just quit working??? I haven't got a chance to check all the fuses but the few I looked at looked ok.

Sure you didn't loosen or damage the water temp sensor while in that vicinity! I would put 12 volts to the fan motor to ensure they do work first then start checking fuses, relays, connectors and you find you problem!

A damaged water temp sensor should prevent the fans from coming on.

The hot temp gauge and the SES might be totally unrealted.
As you sure the car was overheating??
If you damage the sensor for the gauge while doing the intake it might show hot and not even be. I cracked mine on my Jeep a few months ago while changing the VC gasket.
It caused me to freak out for nothing.
The SES is more than likely from something you did with the new intake. Something got knocked off or airflow has changed enough that the ECU sees a problem.
Good Luck and keep up up to date so we may be able to help.

Yes I'm sure it was overheating...I could fell the heat off the engine and could smell the antifreeze. But as embarassed as I am to say this I found the problem. There are 2 plugs right behind the fuse relay on the driver side under the hood and the one closest to the fender was unplugged!!! I plugged it in and sure enough the fans and the A/C clutch started working...LOL So if anyone has this problem check that plug first. I'm still puzzled where the P1800 code came from but it hasn't came back on and hasn't effected the performance so who knows...but thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.
