One of my radiator fans made a squeaky noise...first I thought it was the belts. Then the squeaks went away and was replaced with a rattling sound along with massive vibration. Now I'm only on a single-fan with no overheating issues. Then again, it's not summer time yet so it remains to be seen if I can truly get by on one fan.
I had a similar sound a couple years ago, squeal on startup and then occasionally on hard throttle when the a/c was on. I had a mobile mechanic, who was at work working on someone elses car take a look, he said it was probably the a/c clutch.
Found that was expensive to fix, so I looked more into it and it ended up being the idler pulley. Bearings in it were going out. New idler pulley/belt fixed my problem. No squeaking since.
