Newbie Intake question

Hello guys, been lurking around this site for a couple months now but this is my first post.
I am considering getting a intake system. I have it narrowed down to the PR CAI or the JWT/Stillen hi flow intake. I am willing to spend the extra cash on the PR CAI if it makes that much more of an improvement over the JWT.
Is the PR CAI any louder that the other two. Which will give me more of low end power. If it makes any difference I have a 2000 GXE automagic. Any help you guys can give me will be appreciated.

Using search will show that the CAI is loudest and provides the biggest gains down low while the stillen and JWT cones lose low end.

thanks punkdork. Here's another stupid question. What does "WOT" mean? I've seen it in a couple posts and can't figure it out.
It would be really easy for me to get the JWT because I live in San Diego, CA and their headquarters are just 15 minutes away from my house. Wouldn't have to wait for shipping. Thanks again.

If you don't want to drill into your car (CAI) then go with the JWT. Drive down and pick it up! You will save a bundle on the intake and shipping! You can use the K&N filter cleaning kit to maintain it from there on.

Go with the PR Cai.. I used the have the JWT, and the CAI is 10X better. Louder at WOT and gives me my power back on the low end..

I concur. I've had all of the bolt-on intakes, and some. I had the JWT first then went with OSCAI (was one of the original designers of it) and currently with the Cattman CAI (same as the PR CAI). However, I customised the CAI a little. What I did was to incorporate the JWT velocity stack with the CAI about 4 days after installing the CAI. This I did by getting an intake adapter, which I bolted to the JWT stack and a 3"-3" coupler which I used to clamp the adapter to the CAI tube. There was a positive difference with this setup over using the cylindical filter which came with the CAI. Defintely feels like more low end torque (probably because of faster air velocity due to the stack), as per the butt dyno. No discernable difference on the high end though. This I will verify at the track shortly (it's easy to unclamp the filter and clamp on the other one).

So, I hope you didn't give away or sell or, God forbid, throw the JWT away.

Just sharing my experimentation......

if you want to know more about this CAI vs. Stilen/JWT cone intake, go to www.maximadriver.com and read the article there on this comparison.

there u will find that although the CAI has a sight edge in low-end when compared to the S-I/JWT-I, it loses out in the top end...i have a Stillen intake and i would definitely recommend this(either a Stillen or JWT...same $hit). cuz i mean, afterall, we're all in this for that extra top end...
