I had only painted one wheel. The other three had a bit more touch up with the filler than needed done before I could primer/paint them.

I hope so. I think they'll end up being a bit lighter in color than the original G35 paint, but I think they're going to look pretty good against the Glacier Pearl.

Those look fantastic so far. I've toying with possibly having mine powder coated. I had to get a tire patched yesterday and got to chatting with the Manager of the Mr. Tire over here in Newark. He thinks he could get me a hookup for $150 all 4 wheels. Black chrome might look good with the sterling mist paint. I'm still a little hestant though.

Hopefully in the next week. I plan to work on them quite a bit this afternoon and tomorrow as well.

$150 seems like a pretty good price. Do they have any other ones that they've already done that you could check out before having yours done?

Those wheels are comming along very nicely, can't wait to see them on the car. Personally I'm thinking of putting the 07 altima 5-spoke wheels on my 2000 maxi, anyone try this yet? I'd like to know if it would actually work before I buy the wheels.

I'll be getting some exhaust work done on my HB tomorrow by someone he knows, so I'll see if he can show me some work he's done.

It's sandable primer from Autozone, just dries much lighter than it goes on.

The sprayer is just some cheap deal I bought at Autozone for like $2.39 or something. Dupli Color does a good job to make sure the spray pattern is consistent. Every can of paint that I've used so far has nearly identical spray patterns. Of course, I did a few test sprays with each new can before I applied it to the wheels.

Some people on another forum were asking me what process I used to restore the wheels, so I updated the first post with the process I've used so far.

3 or 4 of primer, 6 or 7 of paint and I have 6 cans of clear coat. I'm hoping that will be enough.

You should definatly find a place that does touchless mounting I used the same paint on my SE-Rs and they rashed the crap out of the edge when the mounted my new tires.

Looking good. Have you put the 6th gen brakes on yet?? Difference?

I need to replace the fronts on my car before I sell it. It shakes something horrible.

I'm trying. Doing them the right way is pretty time consuming and there's a number of other things keeping me from getting them finished. Spring time is a very busy time for me this year for some reason.

I'm taking them to a buddy of mine locally that has a touchless mounting setup (manages a local NTB)

That was my concern as well. Did some searching on a local forum and talked to a buddy who's going to do them for me.

I found these wheels with tires on CL locally for $600. Threw out two tires and sold the other two yesterday.

I'm glad I'm not keeping track.

Thanks man. I'm actually getting tired of looking at them.

Chuck, I haven't got them on yet. I've got to wait to get the wheels done first because the steelies won't clear the 6th gen brakes. I'm hoping they make a decent difference and help when it comes time for me to list mine for sale as well.

We need to get together, it's been too long. Not sure if you still have the same number, but I'll try to give you a call this week to catch up.

I'm getting so tired of painting. Wet sanding brought out some thin paint spots that needed another touch-up. I really want to have these done for a local car meet this Saturday.

Nearly done!

Just a few more touch up spots and the clear should be going on later this afternoon!!!

The tape notes the few tiny spots than need a small touch up.
