Is there a write up?

i need to know how to clean the IACV on 2000 i30. im having some problems with my idle and im not getting any codes and many ppl told me its my IACV and that i might also need a new ECM.

anyway i was wondering if cleaning the IACV will help my car, or should i take it to a professional shop to get it checked by a pro and see if i really need a new IACV and a ECM.

also if there is a write up on how to clean the IACV please give me a link. thanx.

http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/517 That is for a 4th gen, but it is the same general procedure. And if you need a new ECM and IACV, you have to take it to the dealer. My IACV just went bad and fried the ECM as well. How many miles on your i30? If its under 80k inifiniti should cover the ECM, if not, you're gonna have to pay for both.

Yep. ECM usually runs about $1k, I believe. My IACV, diagnosis, labor, and tax totaled $550.
