Fuel cleaner, codes?
Fuel cleaner, codes?
I put Shell fuel cleaner in the last tank of gas and filled it up. about 80 miles on the interstate, SES showed up, although nothing different I could feel.
so I went to Autozone and had the codes pulled and cleaned.
P0011 Intake Valve Timing Control (Bank 1)
P0021 Intake Valve Timing Control (Bank 2)
P1147 Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Maximum Voltage Monitoring (Bank 1)
now I've put about 120 miles on the clock after the codes were cleaned, no SES so far.
I've had no problem with the car for 2 years.
do you think it's the fuel cleaner causing the SES to light up?

Well - this is NO educated reply...but perhaps adding the Shell Treatment loosened some minute debris in the engine, and it lodged itself in one or more of the engine sensors?!
If you got the codes cleared, and the engine is running smoothly - i'd say don't worry about it.
Keep driving it until something (or nothing else) happens.
Might just be an anomaly in the system.
good luck.
