2005 s2000 vs 2003 maxima ???
hey Org. I am going to the track tomorrow and my buddy has a 2005 s2000 bone stock. I have full exhaust no headers, timing advance, and a jwt intake. I have the drop resistor mod as well.
Will he dominate me. Im just curious.
I have driven his car and it just feel so go kartish. Im kinda worried as i told him I would take him. ????

It'll be close, but I think he will pull on you. I've raced my friend's 04 S2000 who continuously pulls on me, but he has testpipe and catback vs my 6sp w/ intake. The auto and the 20s will slow you down in comparison.

very true. My car is an auto. But I honestly have mastered gate shifting lol.
No I have never been to the track but, I have beat my friends r32 vw, which has beat an s2000.
Im kind of nervous.
I have never drivin the track in the daily.
Only in the mustang.

I'm probably the only one that thinks this, but I think he's gonna get you pretty good. I ran a guy with one back when I had test pipe/catback/intake and I got walked pretty good from a stop. With the right driver those cars can roll out. But good luck and hopefully you beat him. Now go get some headers and other bolt-ons and put that S2K in your rear view!!!

Track as in dragstrip or SOLO? Any handling competition he will flat decimate you. Quartermile, it will probably come down to how well he can shift and how well you hook up. The 20s are going to kill you top end though.

i think you nudge him by a nose without those 20's, ppl keep saying 14.1 stock, but really the average times i see from them things are 14.4-14.6, with the mods you have you should be able to pull those times also if not better... put them coilovers on full stiff, but if you do lose, it would be nothing embarrasing

if the s2k is bone stock.. i think theres a good possibility you'll beat him.. get rid of your 20s thats for one.. disconnect your exhaust.. basically unbolt your cat.. my buddy did that with his 03 auto and ran a 14.2 with a 2.1 60'.. the videos on youtube.. look it up.. s2k are avg mid 14s cars not everyone can get them to be low 14s.. they have no torque.. you should be able to take him off the dig.. and if your auto shifting is consistent you got him no problem..

perk - we need a group picture day. We also should go to the track and duke it out. I have no mods but I do have stick. Your auto pulls through the gears very quick though...hit me up. How did the race go with the s2k? I'm assuming you raced this weekend.

rained. but yea man we need to do a photo shoot.

As a biker I associate "track" with twists and turns, not the 1/4. If youre talking about 1/4, it could be close. As soon as twists and turns are brought into the equation you should just forfeit

understood that it can be misinterpreted for a different track but i would hope that after reading the posts and using common sense you would know what track the OP is talking about

It's too bad you haven't had some practice at the strip.
If you want to win, I'd put your stock wheels back on and try to tree him. I'm assuming he's a manual which will give you a bit of an advantage on consistency and easier to get good R/Ts.
If you're running on a sportsman tree then you'll want to leave on the 3rd yellow, don't wait for green. By the time you get moving it'll be green and you'll pull a good R/T. If for some reason they put you guys on a pro tree (my local 1/8th mile does this all the time) just punch it when you see the yellows light up.

IMO i would say if u go with a smaller wheel and tree him its going to be a really good race.our auto max's hammer threw the gears pretty fast and if u hook well he mite be in for a surprise esp if u got basically a full exhaust and an intake and other mods.the s2k is light and pretty fast but if its bone stock and u are modded im going to go with your max gl man def want to see the results of this
