2K AT Substitute MT Motor Mounts?

I have a 2000 Maxima GXE with AT and a broken front motor mount (233K miles). To replace both front and rear motor mounts with the OEM electrical mounts is $355 versus $153 for the MT versions. Given the age of the car, I doubt it's worth it if the MT mounts/bushings will work OK.

Other threads suggest that replacing the AT crossbar and mounts with an MT crossbar and mounts, replacing only the bushings, is feasible, but those MT assemblies are reportedly scarce.

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the OEM mounts/bushings for MT versions without the electrical bushings?

TIA
Richard

If you seached the forum you will find that it indeed is helpful to stick in MT mounts. I just did it and don't see much of a difference other than an occassional surge when the throttle is engaged quickly... I have 165K and did it primarily to save my ECM since another forum member shot his ECM when the mounts failed (some kind of a short).

You don't need to replace the crossmember.

www.rockauto.com - they have OEM replacement parts as well.

The x-member holes line up with the AT mount holes... No need for a new x-member.
