WOW that oil pan was seriously rusty... I thought mine was bad (no holes)...
Those damn stickers were a pain in the a... I left them on like that too, I figure they will probably just burn off or fall of when they get wet

Rear main seal leaks to the bottom of the transmission housing, not over to the oil pan.

 

i guess... i got a leak at my rear main seal and i have oil over my oil pan... oil pan was replaced under warranty, but im not the one to listen to, im just throwing things out there

 

Pan might have been replaced, but the oil pressure switch directly above it could be leaking. Mine was...

Yup, no one looks under my car anyway. I thought the same too - the hot oil will heat up the adhesive, then just splash through some puddles on a rainy day and it might come right off.

I think I'm good on the rear main seal...transmission remains clean. I'm gonna do the OPS and oil cooler o-ring soon just for good measure and since they're cheap, but that pan was probably the main culprit.

 

Below is a shot of the passenger control arm right by the link pin bushing. Hard to see in this pic but there is some torn rubber in this bushing...might even explain my horrible ride quality:

 

So far, so good. Haven't noticed any oil puddles on the ground under the car anymore, but haven't taken a close look at the actual undercarriage.

 

Three weeks later and the oil pan is still dry & glossy as a rug. I believe the oil pan was it. Didn't even do the o-ring & OPS (though I still bought the parts).

I believe he means silicone RTV gasket material. Just use a small bit of this to keep the gasket in place while installing. The gasket will likely move out of place when installing if you don't use some RTV to seat it to the pan.
