Trans Fluid question

Wanted some information with regards to kind of trans fluid the 5th gen auto users are using.

I hv an 01 maxima with 178K miles and is coming close to the next trans fluid drain n fill time.

I'm wondering if I should use the castrol import trans fluid which says it matches the Nissan Matic-D instead of the shell Dex III that i have been using for the past 70K miles since I bought the car.

No issues with the tranny at all just wondering if using a better oil would be good for the car

Interesting thread.. Bought my car at 138xxx miles.. Now at 140xxx and I'm due for a clean flush n refill.. Haven't really researched much on fluids. Should start a poll...

Hey, if you made it 178K and no problems, why change? Stick with the Dexron III.
