Clutch disk Q

Hey guys, just wondering... I'll be swapping my tranny soon so i will be replacing the fidanza insert (just in case) and I'm thinking of doing the clutch again even though it was done about 9 months ago. Now here's the question. I like the heavier pedal feel of the exedy's stage 1 setup which is on the car right now, but after a misshift or two it might be needing to be changed out. But I'm not sure I want to go with the exedy clutch itself. So I'm wondering what would happen if I went with the revup disk and the exedy PP. I'd still have slightly harder than OEM feel with the good grip and smoother transition with the light flywheel. I heard both good and bad things about the highrev setup on the maxima, but the part I didn't like from what I read was that the pedal is too soft. What do you guys think? Or is it even possible to buy the disk without the PP?

It looks like the revup disc is only sold in a kit with the pressure plate as well.

Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem to mix and match like that. As you said the aftermarket pressure plate will still give you that harder feel that you like, and it shouldn't be as 'grabby' being that it's an OEM clutch.

Mind you, if you run it like that with a Fidanza, you're going to have an unsprung flywheel and an unsprung clutch; harsh on the trans. Not extremely so (unless you run around dropping the clutch everywhere), but still.

Ok, I've been doing some research, and there isn't much available for the maxima. Act's site shows nothing for the 02-04 maxima, clutchmasters only makes stage 1 and stage 3. I've heard lot's of good things about clutchmasters, so I phoned them to get a price on the stage 2 disk only which is made for the 350Z/G35 as they don't list anything for the maxima either in stage 2.

Act sells "stage 3" disk for g35 and the Z but it is organic

There is a local guy selling a bully stage two slightly used for a really good price but I need to see pictures on that one. Segmented kevlar. WRX guys seem to love these.

Suggestions? Comments?

clutchmasters wants 300 plus shipping for just the disk, seems a bit pricey to me when the whole kit can be had for around 500.
