VQ Removal Procedure

So I'm ready to swap my VQ35and 6spd tranny for a combo with way less miles on it. My questions are (1) pull engine with gearbox (2) take up through hood or drop out from below. Any tips and tricks guys or preferences?

Motor and tranny together from the bottom by dropping subframe. Butter

141K it's actually cheaper to swap than to pay the stealership costs.

I'm hoping I don't have to do it that way.

Already giving up at 141k? That's craziness. Mine's 159k and it's getting boosted. And the ***** is gonna take it (b/c I say so haha).

I haven't done it this way on a Maxima, but on several other cars. It's pretty easy. Don't try it by yourself though. Use 2 jacks. One under the trans and one under the engine and roll them out slowly. With the front of the car high up on jackstands it should roll right out.

Ok then from the bottom it is...anyway it has the timing chain noise, the tranny is a little rough shifting from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. I got a sweet deal on a 03 engine and box. I might be getting help from a local org member or two...we're everywhere man.

I'll probably post pics of the entire process "VQ Removal for Dummies" this is not a mod. This a swap so it's as simple as it gets.

I might have to get a little creative with that plastic that roofers use, but I will get it done.
