security light stayed on

I was driving home today and happened to notice my security light was staying solid.

When i got home i turned off my car and immediately restarted my car 3-4 times which it did fine but the security light was still staying solid. Then i took my key completely out and restarted my car and the security light turned off like usual.

I have no codes and everything seems to be running just fine as usual. I was just worried because i know when the security light stays on it is a sign either the key chip is bad or the NVIS unit is bad but the car isn't supposed to start

Am i facing impending failure or was it just a fluke and is there any way to check. I did some searching but the closest thing i could find was a 4th gen that had a similar problem with no responses

Hi Feldman
I was wondering did you find out the issue regarding the security light..
My 2001 Just did that, meaning the light is on solid when i lock all the doors(used to blink) and when i put the key in the light blinks, i try to crank and nothing happens..

Please if you can get back to me and let me know if you had to have the key reprogrammed or what happened with your case i would highly appreciate that.
Thanks very much in Advance.
