whats the difference between 4th gen max LSD tranny and 01 AE LSD

hey guys, just curious; as i bought a tranny out of a 97 max SE with LSD (canadians have it) to replace my 2000 max's MT (its fried). so just wondering if theres any diff between the one i bought and a 01 AE LSD trans. Should i have bought an AE LSD, or r they the same shieet.

oh and, what does the H in HLSD stand for in 5.5 gen 6spds? how are these diff to just normal LSD.

thanks.
p.s. i did search. nothing relevant came up.

A32 trans has a shorter striking rod, the piece that the shifter rod attaches to. Using an A33 trans in an A32 will cause the shifter itself to be in a different position. Not sure, but I think it is more rearward. In your case though, I'm really not sure. Nobody much really goes A32 to A33. Usually the other way around.

The 'V' in VLSD stands for viscous. The 'H' in HLSD stands for helical. Two different methods to couple the output drive shafts to achieve similar results.

yea i know itll fit and everything, and am also aware of the striking rod.

the question was more just about, which is better performance wise. or if theyr the exact same thing. but im guessing theyr pretty much the same 5 speed LSD transmissions.

They're virtually identical. And if you didn't find anything through search, you're not searching properly; this has been covered time and time again.
