Windows squeak?

Does anybody else have this problem... when opening or closing the windows.. the windows squeak really loud. I told this the dealership, they said this was normal because Nissan had made the windows so air tight. I think this is BS.

And another note... why is it so hard to post a thread!!!!!!

Do you have a 2k2? I'm not sure about 2k1 or 2k but mine did squeak during the first couple of weeks.

But it's all normal now. Even after putting some tint on it. The rubber may just have needed some time to adjust and soften a bit.

I have a 2K1 and the problem has been getting worse as time goes by. The dealer actually lubricated the window and it still hasn't solved the problem.

I think most everyone has the problem, with my 2000 it's more of a pop though..

Mine stopped squeeking when I used rain-X on the outside surface - The silicone (or whatever they use to bead up the water) acts like a lubricant.

The only trouble is that when using the "auto-up" feature, it now slams the window into the sill harder than it used to (friction reduction?)- oh, and the side glass stays pretty clear in the rain, too

The dealer will use a dry silicone spray to put on all the rubber around the window seals and wherever the window is in contact will the rubber...I used regular silicone spray and drenched the rubber..then I sprayed it all over the windows and rolled them up and down a bunch of times....it worked for me..of course youll have to clean all the excess silicone spray off the paint and everywhere else...I used a towel to wipe the spray off the windows...I used "wet" silicone spray and not DRY only because I already had a can of wet..THe wet spray will damage your paint if you dont clean it off...bolth wet and dry silicone is available at any home depot or where ever.

If only that was the way it really worked. Nissan service is average, Acura not much better. Infiniti has been great, but it hasn't required many visits (that's a good thing)

Watch the silicone overspray - many types use nasty solvents as carriers, which can mess up the clearcoat finish

customers should make the dealerships realize this (good service) is what they should be doing, if i have the slightest problem with my car that i just paid $27 grand for, i go in their like they owe me $$$$$ and i'm starving to death b/c of them, b/c theoretically they do (owe me) and i am (starving) after dropping that much fruit of my labor on their punk a$$e$

my windows make a groaning noise after closed, like they are pressurizing or something, and it is usually remdied with a small amount of pressure...i.e. slamming my fist into the window

Yeah, me too

My windows squeek when I roll'em up and down too. Driver's side is the main offender. They still do it after the windows were tinted. It's funny, they don't do it all the time, just when people are in the car or I'm at the drive up window.

AE Window Squeak

AHH That annoys me sooo much! I have a 2001 AE and my window (mainly driver side) makes the pop/squeak sound when I open it as well. Drives me nuts.. Sounds like a vacuum seal breaking..

me too!

I've got this annoying problem too!! It happens about 95% of time, but only on the driver and passenger side windows. Other times, the windows either don't squeak at all or go down/up *REALLY* slow like they are almost going to stop. I'm going to visit the dealer here soon to see what they can do...this is ridiculous.
