Injen or Stillen?
Injen or Stillen?
I've done as much research as I can regarding this...
Ever since I installed my Injen CAI it seems like my car is slower. So I'm looking for some opinions...
Should I keep the Injen or do a Stillen WAI setup?

I took mine off cause it seemed to be holding my trap speed down in the 1/4 mile! Low-midrange wallop was awesome it just seem to run out of acceleration in 3rd gear right near the end of the quarter
yeah forsure somethings going on then because i got a weapon ram shortram intake secret weapon and it wasn't the greatest to set up by after i got everything together i really noticed the air sucking in sound while driveing and notice a good mont of more engine noise but i never really timed myself to see how much faster it is but i would say shortrams are very good from what i got.
Injen, Stillen, Berk, and JWT are all overpriced and overhyped...
Just use your throttle body boot & resonator, an MAF adapter ($15), followed by the MAF case, and then a good cone filter ($25).
Works better than all 4 intakes listed above and only costs around $25-$40, depending on where you get the parts from.

+1 I had the injen for a long time and recently switched to a homade short ram and am WAY more impressed with the power. The injen is good for the low end but mid and top it just blows get yourself a 4-6" straight pipe and a good cone and you're gonna be golden.

Are you seriously crying about someone using your pictures to show an example of what the OEM version of the short ram intake looks like, just to give them a better indication of what they need to do and what steps to take?
Btw, its called copy/paste....and it was all in an effort to help fellow org members.

I suggest you GTFOI.

wow well that sucks i just ordered a injen 2 piece cold air last week and it will arrive today...i got it for 300 shipped....well im hoping there will at least be a improvement over stock???
It might cost $20-25 bucks or so to ship back at your expense, but I think its better than losing $300.
Then you can go out and buy a MAF adapter and filter for around $25-40.
For example...

i never knew this many ppl saw it fit to spend $300 on an intake... Headers are $80 more, i would so wait and buy the headers... 20+whp vs 5-7whp... it makes for a good intake if you're in it for bragging rights or for show with a brandy engine bay
I have the Injen RD1940P intake and I noticed a great amount of HP gain as well as an awesoe sound. The only thing I could think of is what was already said earlier in the sense that maybe your MAF was messed up with install or a seal isn't...well...sealed. I installed mine myself with 0 problems at all. So you should have done it right, but who knows. Did you get a short ram or the CAI. BTW someone made a comment that mine was HAI when it is almost touching th ground UNDER my engine. Heat rises guys it does not fall.

AEM & Injen FTL.
I am now back on the Injen bandwagon, I just got back from the track and did absoultly terrible with the homemade short ram. I lost close to .5 sec off my PB. I couldn't get better than a 14.7 all night but most runs were in the 14.9 range. The only thing I changed is my intake and you can bet the Injen is going back on ASAP, granted it was quite humid but not humid enough too loose that much time. Everything suffered my 60's dropped by .1-.2 along with my traps by 3-4mph. I will say the car felt more powerful but I think it was just in my head. Injen FTW... at least on my car
