What color caliper on a silver/chrome max? silver or red?

Wondering if i should keep with the silver/white/chrome theme and paint the calipers silver, or go with red to make the wheels pop?

Thanks

for oem calipers i say silver or black. if you have a bbk then red might be more of an option. but only do red if it's going to be done right because if you make them red they are going to get looked at up close a lot.

Well its not a big break kit, but they are drilled and slotted, and i was thinking about putting a NISMO caliper sticker on em as well.

That is solid advice. Very well said.

Can't vote. You didn't offer black as an option.

I ended up painting them Silver and they came out pretty good. I agree with bigpopa that they really dont pop at all or bring any more attention to the wheel. However my max is so uniformly silver and chrome they might have stuck out like sore thumbs if i painted them red. Im going to stick with this for a while and probably get some red NISMO caliper stickers and slap them on there. Ill post pictures after work today.

Anyone interested in buying a set of six caliper stickers that read "Maxima"? They are either white or silver and ill get back to you about that with pictures, $5.00 shipped.

The only reason id paint my calipers black is if i had black wheels, or crap wheels, sorry fifth.

Agreed. I really like the look of gloss black painted calipers. I think the shine of them attracts the attention you are looking for and it looks really clean.

IMO, red belongs only on 2+ piston calipers with a really smooth surface (i.e. porsche, corvette, or a true BBK). Painting red on stock calipers leaves a rough finish which gets caked with brake dust and starts to looks crappy very quickly.

At least when you paint them black, the brake dust matches that color and the only real negative effect is that it reduces the gloss a bit.

Silver is nice but if you have the budget, have them show chrome plated, that's going to be really nice but much more expensive > 450$ US for both side. But once they are done, it will be easier to clean and it's bye bye rust forever.

My rear one have been show chromed and it look really nice. On the other hand just brush painting them wont last very long, if you want the paint to stay on for a long time you then need to have the caliper sand blasted and then use a high temp primer, paint with PPG base coats & clear coat, they will look awesome.
