my friends are complaining that my rear deck was "rattleing or loose" so i took a look when i took the bose cover case thingy off and as i put the volume up the metel tray i guess u can call it was shackign like a **** and causeing a noise so i put my finger down on it stoped vibrating and the sound was amazing so i decieded to tighten the screw but the problem is that i tightened every screw to the max and there still is noise and it still rattles but its only on the top left corner so is there anyway i can stopp this noise from happening?? any suggestions would help thankss!

 

i changed mines all together but this should work... put a small peice of dynomat on the metal and screw through it.... or just dont use the screw and put the dynomat on it

nahh man trust me i held the metal part down and the sound was just amazing lol its not the seat belt brackets

 

or if u know anybody with a body shop or carshop or audio shop, they may some laying around........... i wasnt saying to drill through anything... i was saying put the dynomat where the rattling is, i thought it was where one of the screws went... bestbuy has it... im sure HD or lowes

 

might wanna post this in the audio section buddy... ppl will have better solutions

There's actually a tsb for rear deck noise..when I get to a computer I can get it for ya..it does touch on the seatbelt brackets though

 

Possibly the bose emblem on the cover over the sub....

Mine fixed itself, subwoofer quit working 30K miles ago, no rattles at all now

2000-2001 Maxima (A33) with Bose Audio

SERVICE INFORMATION
If an Applied 2000-2001 Maxima displays either of the following symptoms:
^Rattle or buzz noise coming from the rear parcel shelf board when listening to low frequency/high bass audio.
^Distortion type noise from the rear sub-woofer.

the cause(s) may be:
^During cold weather operation, the trunk torsion bars may be rattling against the torsion bar spacer block when listening to low frequency/high bass audio, or when driving over rough roads.
^The rear parcel shelf board hold-down clips may not be firmly seated in the parcel shelf.
^Low bass frequency of the Bose(TM) rear sub-woofer may be vibrating the center seat belt retractor steel inertia ball or causing the rear parcel shelf board to flex and vibrate.

Use the Diagnostic Procedure below to verify the condition exists. Once verified, complete the following areas of the Service Procedure to correct the condition:
^Torsion Bar/Torsion Bar Spacer Block Securing Procedure.
^Secure Parcel Shelf Board Hold-Down Clips.
^Q-Pads(TM) Installation Procedure, including:
^Inspect Center Seat Belt Retractor Assembly. Install Resin Block(s) - if necessary.
^Inspect Bose(TM) Sub-woofer Mounting Bracket Assembly. Insert 5th Fastening Screw - if necessary.

See p. 12. I plan on adding this screw b/c mine rattles and holding the corner down makes a difference.

 

Just because it's a TSB doesn't mean they fix it for free so be careful. It's just a guideline used to help find the problem spots faster. And even then, it doesn't guarantee a fix. If you have a warranty give the dealer a call and see what they can do. If not, don't expect anything. I know I've had a few customers come in and throw a fit about their cars because they have a TSB and they know better than we do and blah blah blah...So before you waste time and money at the dealer, see if you can fix it yourself. Can't hurt to try!

 

Buy a Dynamat door kit and Dynamat the rear deck and seat belt holders as stated in the above posts and then use the leftovers on the front speakers!!

NIGHT & DAY difference in sound quality! Granted the stock Bose system isnt the best but it make a HUGH difference and well worth it!!
