I have a dumb question

are aftermarket shift ***** same for auto and manual transmission? I want to get a new shift/ebrake handle.... I have an auto and it does not have any buttons or anything, seems like a plain shifter to me but I dont know if a manual style shifter will fit on the stick

So... anybody know the answer to this? It looks like it should be the same as manual shift ****. I asked the guy at an autovalue store and he couldnt grip the fact that I have an automatic with no button on the shifter...

it is the same as the manual ****. to remove the **** slide or twist the metal lookin piece off then twist the top off the rod.

02 trannys are different. Its just a plain leather or wood trim ****. no buttons. If i dont want O/D, i just switch to the 3 on the selector. So there are no buttons.

and what does the shift release keyhole have anything to do with the ****? he just wants to replace that part.

i mean the metal lookin piece on the bottom of the **** that pulls off first then the **** is twisted off.
