New Maxima Owner

Hello All,

I'm about to pick up my new 2002 SE 6Spd Black on Black w/leather this Friday although I may have to wait until Monday. I'm all excited about my new Max and look forward to being a participant on this board.

Anyhow, just wanted tp pass on some info from the dealers I've talked to, 350Z and G35 coming for sure this spring the Z is supposed to be $40Gs(CDN). Also an all new Maxima for spring of 2003.

MaxRPM

by the way I'm from Toronto/Canada!

Re: New Maxima Owner

I just bought mine on Monday night. I was going to wait for the G35, but I called my Nissan dealer and he had a black SE 6Spd w/leather and the meridian package sitting on the lot. I drove by and couldn't resist the temptation. The only thing it doesn't have is the helical lsd.

I blame this forum for sucking all the will power out of me.

Why do I get the feeling I'm gonna be spending a lot more time here???

Don't ever listen to dealers, every one has a different story. I have found that 99.9% of dealers know a lot less then most on this board.

Welcome aboard fellow 6spders .

Welcome to the board. We all look forward to your intelligent and entertaining inputs.

Pictures please!

I'm with emax, the dealers always have interesting stories to tell. They are probably 90% clueless. I remember the Honda dealer telling me that the S2000 is a limited edition vehicle and won't be produced past 2001. They are tools.

I was informed that it would be based on the Altima platform, V8 would be great but I doubt it.

To all the other I too don't beleive what most dealers/sales people say, 99.9% of the time I know more about the car I am looking at then they do. This particular guy seemed a little more informed then usual.

I'm Toronto Canada, so I am paying in Canadian dollars. Anyhow, I went to a couple of dealers and got prices then went to www.cars4U.com and they gave me the best price. I am paying 645.91/mth(tax included) on a 3 year lease with $0 down

If anyone is in the toronto area I highly recommend cars4u.com, great people great service with no hassles.

Correct, my old man works for NMC and he confirmed this info when I was down there for Thanksgiving.

Other guys, congrats and welcome to the .org.

Don't mind at all. I got mine at Bill Kay's Nissan in Downers Grove, IL for $400 over invoice = 28,141 plus taxes and such. The dealer started at $1600 over invoice.

Options include Bose Audio, Meridian, leather, splash guards, floor mats, sunroof, wind deflector, and airbags.

The automatics were going at invoice.

I bought my 2K2 GLE a month ago and paid $300 over invoice. I used carsdirect.com's website and took the printout of their price to the dealer. I just told the guy, either you sell me the car for the same price, or you can deliver it to me when I purchase it through carsdirect! They decided to match the price...

However, I did drive to a dealer in a more competitive area... My local Nissan dealer has a pretty lousy reputation. Santa Cruz Dodge Nissan Volkswagen isn't getting any of my money EVER!

I agree, when we got this maxima, I actually knew more about it than the sales people there! at one point I was answering their questions! LOL! but a very good buying experience.

When Nissan designs a damned maxima that I can actually fit into!

I could go for an Alty, but the interior isn't up to my standards. The G35 looks awesome too, but who knows if it'd be in my price range or not.
