Removing the A/C
Hey guys.
My A/C compressor is blown to ****. The bearings are completely shot and it will barely turn. The A/C doesnt even work at all. I dont have the money to drop into a new compressor so would it be cheaper to take it out temporarily? How would I bypass where the A/C was and what would I need/need to do?
Thanks

this isnt easy...i belive you have to purge out your old stuff freeon...then i guess you can take out the compressor...then get a diff belt (smaller) becuase now the old belt will be to big becuz your loosing another piece for it to go onto...its kinda hard 2 explain....any 1 wanna chim in?

I'll bet it's the pulley bearings that are shot.......they are replaceable. If it's actually the compressor that's toast just disable the compressor clutch for now. When the compressor clutch is disengaged the pulley is nothing more than an idler pulley.
