i have a 2001 se,, 65 k miles,,somehow my abs on dash lights up while i was driving 25 mph,,,so i parked the car and shut off the ingnition,,and restarted it ,,the abs lite went out,,,then i repeated the shut off start up procedure several times it stays on on some start ups and shuts off on some start ups,,,anyone have that problem or any feedback would be appreciated.

 

Use the search function. It's probably a sensor. Go pull the code at the local dealer.

 

Well you have already done the reset by turning the car off and then back on, you could check all ABS sensor for dirt and dust, try some electronic spray cleaner, or even a can of compressed air to blow off any dirt or grim that could be causing the sensor to go off.

 

yea i sprayed behind all four wheels with brakleen,,and the abs light was still on ,,so i drove the car for 15 minutes and parked it ,,shut off the engine and turned it back on without starting ,,the abs lite went out on the dash,,did it four times and it stayed off,,whew got lucky and hopefully it stays that way,

 

I had the same problem recently. My rear driver side sensor was getting to much voltage so i had to replace it.
