6-speed tranny info; which years compatible?

Hey now

A bad bearing blew out the 6-speed in my 2K2 Maxima, so I need to find a replacement. HLSD would be nice, but this is my wife's daily driver, so open diff would be fine.

Having a hard time sourcing a tranny with low miles, and would like to broaden my search, as I understand the 6-speeds in the Altima and Sentra will also work.

Which years, for Maxima, Altima, or Sentra, would be a direct replacement for a 2K2 Maxima?

Thanks in advance.

Any 6spd maxima should work. Sentra has a diff bellhousing; check this out - http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...v-6-speed.html

Look here http://car-part.com/ for an 04-06 HLSD Maxima tranny. That's your best bet. It will bolt right up for you using your axles.
HINT: Don't be afraid to order one from Canada. All the 6-speeds sold there had HLSD so there are a lot of them there and the freight is very reasonable.

anything from an 02-06 for a Maxima will work, they stopped making MT's in 06. Straight swap

I can understand the skepticism, but it's true.

My DD is a Mazdaspeed 3

Thanks for the replies, I found one locally for an arm and a leg, but at least it has low miles.
