I was out running some errands today and was waiting at a stoplight for a green. The lane next to me was open and I see from my rearview mirror that a middle-aged guy in black PT Cruiser is making some lane changes to get next to me at the light. Is he kidding?

The light turns green and he actually trys to race me. His car was a stick, but obviously not a challenge for a 5-speed Max. He ended up like 6 car lengths back by the time we hit 55mph...and I only gave it about 75% on my car. I figured he learned his lesson. But no... I get the goof ball next to me the next two lights in a row. Each time, he does his best to try and race. I only humored him in future runs by just staying about a car length ahead or so. I love doing that...makes them think they have a chance.

Did the sales person that sold him the car forget to tell him that he was buying an overweight, glorifed Neon? Chrysler products (excluding the Viper) are not really meant to be rung out. Scary to think how that car will drive in a year...

Watchout for the coming "GT" Cruiser though with the turboed 2.4L 4-banger. 200HP - but still no match for a Maxima. But I'll bet some companies will make some upgrades for those puppies and they'll put down some serious power

 

Well it's clear that this guy just had a stock PT.

But they do have a turbo kit for this car. It was made for the Peon but appartently fits into the PT's chassis as well(same engine)

 

I do not fear the PT Loser...um, I mean Cruiser...even with a turbo.

 

I've seen one with a GT-R badge before

 

I just read on Motor Trend about a hardtop PT/10. I think Hennessey Motorsports got drunk one night and put the 500hp Viper engine in one for kicks. I can't even imagine how fast it is.

PT Cruisers suck...I really don't see how it could be attractive..

 

It must remind them of the 50's or 60's..I think they are trying to relive their youth....Old people are funny the sad part is I see alot of young people drivin em too..
