They fit the front sides easily, but the rear needs coaxing as they're very long. I'd super glue the PCBs together for strength (or the solder connection will probably break).
Also, for the running lights, they're pretty long. I had to push really hard and jam it against the lens. But they work just fine.

Gimme a bit, see if I can get some pics up.

OT I know, sorry haha.
This is still a relevant topic I say anybody whos interested in rewiring the sidemarkers would consider LED's as well.

WOW those bulbs are pricey... hope they are worth the $$$ I just ordered these a few days ago:

I read in some rx8 forums some people used these for sidemarkers and they looked good. Way cheaper too. $20 for 10 of em

Hehe, when I tested them they burned the image of the bulb into my eye for 5 mins. I kept seeing like a shadow of the bulb.

crappy pics coming, gotta eat

Gah, pics didn't come out, too much glare. Will have to try again later.
I really need to get a DSLR. I don't even own a regular digital lol

I can see them light up the ground some feet away from inside the car if that gives you any indication.

Are they synchronous with the front markers? In other words, do both of your side markers blink with the identical timing? I suppose I could go out to the garage and see if the taillight blinkers are in sync with the headlight blinkers... but for posterity, what's the answer to that one?

yes the front and rear blinkers blink together with the sidemarkers when the lites are off then the sidemarkers blink alternately with the F+R blinkers when the lites are on

Ah, so the front and rear turn signals go through the same relay. Got it. Bought some green 16g wire, taps and butt connectors today. Will be playing with this fun little mod sometime soon.

The last time I went to access my tail lights, it was a total PITA to pull back the trunk liner. Don't suppose anyone has any tips on how to make that less frustrating?

once u have the clips out i just left some of them out so i can easily access the wires and bulbs my last car was kinda like that i ended up using some crazy velcro where the clips went in worked fine for the 2 years i had the car

The clips aren't a problem, it's the form and fitment of the trunk liner. I had to kind of bend it, with some questionable force, to access the taillights. I didn't break it or create a noticeable dent or anything, but it sure seemed like I was about to.

I'm just wondering if there's an easy way to remove the trunk liner for taillight access, or is it supposed to be a PITA.

Anyone want a video tutorial? I just finished all four of mine.

And to those putting in leds on their side markers, make sure they arent blue. In many states its illegal to have any forward or side facing blue or red lights, they might bother you for them if you do.

That's assuming you're using cleared side-markers.

I never understood why that's desirable, but obviously lots of people here do it. Personally, I like the OEM plastic... far less ricey.

Aw crap. I'm all set up to do this, car is on the ramps, panels are pulled back, side markers are popped, and I'm exposing the wires.

Except I've got a 5.5 gen, and the turn signal wires are not Black, Red and Green.

They're black-yellow, red-yellow, and blue-red.

WTF? Which one of these color combos do I tap into representing "green"?

wrong harness. next one to the left on the passenger side, you want the brown connector not the gray

That was it! The instructions talked about 3 wires, so I blindly went after the 3-wire connector, somehow thinking it was the connector for the turn signal.

It wasn't. Well, that was embarrassing.

The turn signal only has 2 wires. One is black, the other green/yellow. You want to tap into the green/yellow. (heavy sigh)

Knight, thank you for your help. I can't believe you went out to your car, snapped and uploaded a photo... that goes above and beyond. Extra karma for you today, buddy!

[edited] The front side-markers are re-wired into the turn-signals now. It looks fantastic.
