TRANNY PROBLEMS please help

OK HERE WE GO:

I have a 2002 and I think my tranny is going. I was sitting at a light after driving like 2 miles and when the light turned green i accelerated as normal and i got a jolt from the tranny like it wasnt all the way in gear. it did it to me twice yesterday. I installed a Hayden tranny cooler about a month ago, topped off the transmission oil with Castrol tranny fluid for (imports).
After i got home yesterday I drained the tranny the oil was brownish in color im afraid a belt might be burnt but the fluid didn't smell bad. i topped it back off with the same Castrol i used before. I've been noticing that the gears hang a little longer then they should and this morning was no exception.

WHAT SHOULD I DO??
is there something that might needs to be replaced without rebuilding or swapping trannies??

Or should I replace it??

if the fluid is coming out like that, it means the clutch packs are worn... like a burned up clutch.

if it feels like its jolting, it could be slipping... this does it when your already in gear right? not while its switching gears?

Change the tranny fluid/flush is better and see how far it goes..

Good luck when was the last time the fluid was exchanged?

Yesterday if i read that right.

dont take it to get it flushed... unless you wanna just go ahead a kill your tranny... tranny fluid is like a detergent. but once the lil bits and peices wear's in, it kinda stays there... So when you flush it, it takes all that away and in a sense, "clean's" the tranny and gets rid of all those peices that helped make the tranny shift smooth...

you could just drain the fluid and replace that drained fluid... but dont flush it.

also if your torque converter can't hold anymore.. its gonna start slipping...

well you must first answer the question... when your driving.... does the car feel like its slipping when your already in gear? or does the RPMS flare between shifts?

whenever you have that brown fluid... you burned the clutches... thats the norm..

the tranny in my first 2002 max started to do the same... and the fluid was brown... but i traded taht in for my s2000 so i didnt have to deal with it..

this time on my new 2002 maxima.. the gears were flaring and the clutch packs were going and burnt the fluid brown too... i know have another tranny in there.

OH what i went through was the neglegance of the damn mechanic swapping the damn wires going to the speed sensors... if after the tranny install and you have the same problem, your mechanic swapped the clips hahahaha...

but i'm nto selling for 350... i'm sellnig for alot lower.. just want it gone cuz its looking ugly on my lawn lol.

whats your zip code... i figured it would be cheaper if you just come pick it up or something.. i'm in northern VA and your just under the state below me..

The one i'm selling is perfectly fine.. but because the damn mechanic swapped the cables on the speed sensors... they thought something was wrong and put another tranny in my car that had the SAME PROBLEM... turns out the cables were just crossed so i didnt have have to have the 2nd one put in...

the first one, the junk yard told me it it literally has 6k miles on it.. it was rear ended when the 2003 i35 was brand new...

it even came with a warranty.. so they sent me another tranny because we "thought" it was bad...

if you come up and get it.. you can have it for 200..

no difference at all in performance...

do you have traction control system?

the tranny in my car now is one from a i35 as well and honestly.. and maybe its just me, but this thing shifts SOO much smoother than the tranny that came with the car.. i cant tell if its because i havent driven her in awhile and it just feels smooth? but each shift is quick and smooth.. even at WOT..

and your about 5 hours from me... i guarantee you thats cheaper driving than it would for me to ship this thing lol..

awesome..

the tranny's and motors are exactly the same within infiniti and nissan maxima's and i35.

the only difference that i know of is the traction control... but that doesnt effect the tranny....

but luckily you have it and all i35's have it.. so its an even match.

the torque converter i have........but it wasn't marked so i honestly cant tell you if it was from what tranny...

but if it came from either tranny... the TC was never an issue... the clutches in the first tranny was...

why do i have only one, i dont know... when i went to contront the mechanic, we got into a huge argument and it ended with me deadlifting two tranny's into the trunk all by myself and picking up one TC...

i'll be honest.... i wanted to mod my car soooo bad... but after seeing so many auto' maximas with problems including myself... i'm leaving completely stock on the performance side...i'm just gonna do some rims and lip and tint with stereo...

but tahts just me.. seems like these auto tranny's cant hold power too well... the 6 speeds are monsters on the other hand...

but anyhoo..i'll gladly give you that TC no problem.. as a matter of fact you can have the original one for free if your dad has the room.. you can probably have that thing rebuilt with performance specs while you have one tranny already in...

also, does it feel when your driving it just feels like the gear just went away and your car isnt moving and then it kicks back in? or does it literaly feel like its slippin...because when the car starts act like the gear has slowly been pulled out and the car just kind revs and the goes back in, the speed sensors are known to cause that...

but that doesnt explain the burned fluid.
