I want an I35

I currently have an 02 6sp with 83k. I love the car and the power but I have been looking at the luxury a lot more. Before I make a crazy decision I was wondering if there is any specifics about the I35 I should look at that I would not have learned on my max.

Is it the same car with the same problems? More problems? More expensive to fix? Also, how much might my car be worth in decent condition vs. the Infinity?

I hope this was the right place to post this and thanks in advance for any help or advice.....

um....the I35 is essentially the same car with slightly different skin. Same power, pretty much same handling, not really any more "luxurious" than a loaded/leather maxima except for faux-wood accents and a power rear sunshade...

what you're really saying is that you want to be able to say that you have an "Infiniti" raher than saying you have a "Nissan?"

btw, Maxima resale value =

lol I LOVE saying I have a nissan. However, this car has some problems that I am not prepared to deal with . I want the same car, but now that I know MUCH more about them I feel like its OK for me to "upgrade" a little. A maxima TE would make me just as happy....

edit: my ideal upgrade would be a 3 series, but thats not an option.....

Man an I35 is the same as a Maxima...that's why most I30/I35 guys are in the 4th/5th gen Max forums!

It's funny though...whenever anyone asks what kind of car I have, I say a Nissan Maxima....makes part searching a lot easier.

They are really the same cars, but that is a good thing since parts for the infiniti are the same price as the maxima parts since they are the same.

The only reason I picked the I30 over the max was that I liked the infiniti body style alittle better than the 2000 max at the time.

lol yeah when i order parts i usually look under Nissan Maxima. Irish is right about the resale value. The Maxima has a better resale value for some reason, thats why i always shake my head in pity for my maxima brothers who pay more for their maximas than i paid for my I35 =) i mean how many people out there have ever heard of an I35? then ask them about a maxima more people have heard of that. the more popular a car is, the better it sells.

Same here, alot of places put parts for 5th gens but not for I30s.

The leather on my sisters FX is way too stiff! I like my leather soft but still firm.

Maxima to an Infiniti I-series as an upgrade?

other than spending more money to get a same car, why dont you just fix your current car?

If you can find an I35 for less than what you would want for the Max, then go for it. Like previously said, why pay more for the same car. When I was looking for my car, I was looking for a Max-I just happened to spot an I35 for a good deal. All my problems I've experienced, I would've experienced on a Max...except for some outside body damage which if I decide to fully fix would require a new bumper.

Personnally, I only envy the I35 for the backseat headrests... Wonder if they are interchangable with the maxima's... And dont the I's have the heated seats in the back too?

Actually whats so funny is a comparable GLE of the same year and mileage is worth more than the comparable I35 per KBB............
