2002 Se Suspension Suggestions

How's it going guys. My car just reached 125k and I think its time to swap out the stocks and struts. I want the most affordable set up and COMFORT is my main concern. If I get some perfomance/handling gains that would be amazing but comfort is my main priority. Any affordable suggestions guys?
Thanks

I would recommend stock springs and Tokico Illumina struts. You pay a little more than the standard struts, but NOW you have the adjustability of them. You can always fine tune things and change the setting based on your mood.

I just installed them, with stock springs, replaced strut mounts and bearings. Ride is better (no more clunking noise over bumps), fun to adjust, keeps the wife happy.

Tokico Illuminas - $454 shipped to price (eBay)
Strut Mounts & Stuff - $225
Install - $0 (DIY)

Besides the new struts (whichever kind you decide on)

I'd change

Strut mounts (think it was mentioned above)

With those miles on the car I'd change

Strut bellows (My bet is they are probably ripped up)
Sway bar end links
Sway bar bushings

Check balljoints
Check Tie Rod ends

I'd buy Moog parts for all of these for the exception of teh struts themselves.

Hey guys i got a 2002 6 speed and want to change my suspension. i dont race it (on a track) but i do beat teh hell out of it. At high speeds when i change lanes the car feels wobbly. i want a comfortable suspension (shocks, struts, or kits?) but that gives GREAT performance and Handling too. and a 1.5 to 2 inch drop would be great. any suggestions? trying to spend less than 1,000.$!

So you're basically saying that you wanna pay almost nothing, drop it 2", make it super comfortable, AND have it perform well around corners?

Pretty sure the newbie said he had $1000 to spend, right? Well, Tuner, it seems to me that you'd be recommending he look for a used set of Tein SS coilovers.

H&R springs Under $300
Illumina Struts About $400 I think
OEM Dust Boots and mounts Not sure, but definitely replace them.
New Torque mounts and Engine and trans mount $ Under $100 on ebay (EDIT) - Our Manual Trans mount HAS to be OEM. No aftermarket company has made a proper mount for our manual Trans.
subframe collars. $90.

Car will be solid and perform like a champ.

Disagree. Not a fan of Sprint springs.

Sounds pretty on the money to me. OEM Dustboots - $95 shipped. Front Moog mounts - $90 shipped. I'd also add sway bar links and bushings to the list.

True enough Rochester, I actually didn't see the price tag at first glance. Yessir, a set of used Tein SS Coilovers is exactly what you need man!

Thxx for the help guys. idk i heard that the coilovers require alot of maintenance and need new spings at around 25 to 30k.i put in about 25k in a year so its not too convenient. After some research i think some tokico illuminas and sum s-tech springs sound pretty good and offer an aggresive drop. what do you guys think? i dont have alot alot of $ to spend but dont want something cheap either.

I just replaced ALL my mounts all around. the dust boots i will most likely change and do you guys thimk i will need the front bearings? or like a mounting kit?
