Home made intake

I made a intake on my car, I made it a 6 inch pipe off the MAF and then put a K&N filter. When I started it up it was sucking extremely loud. My dad has a intake on his truck and it doesn't suck that much as well as my friend on his impala, but when I am driving it sounds so nice it sounds like a Z its beautiful.

Just wondering if it is bad for the car to have a short intake like that, I am making a hot air blocker so that it is just right behind the battery. Is that ok or should I do something else?

here are the pictures you guys wanted, and as for a sound clip idk how I would do that. I got the intake out of an s10 from a clunker at the car dealership I work at and I pieced it together. It made a huge power gain from just the exhaust. As soon as my friend lets me borrow his camera ill shoot up a video for you guys.

Looks good, man. That's what a lot of the intakes look like. Some even replace the middle section with a straight pipe with good results, though that would call for more fabrication. Props on doing it on the cheap.

BTW, I don't think you'll need a heat shield or anything. There isn't any heat coming from the battery.

Thanks for the pics. You gonna do a write-up on it? This should definitely be in the DIY sticky

I doubt I will do a write up on it, I am pretty sure that other people have done the same and it would just be useless cause it would be for the same thing.
