00vi n00b

I've been looking around and even searched to see if I could find out if my car has this but to no avail. The stamp in my engine bay says VQ30DE. I read somewhere that it sould say VQ30DE-K if I had the 00vi. Is this true?

That is true. Are your IM's silver or black? You should have an 00VI.

Now who would do that? To the OP, yeah you got the 00VI maybe someone swapped the spark plug cover off a VQ30DE.

The 00VI are the intake manifolds off a '00-'01 Maxima hence the "00". They're supposed to be black and not silver like the IM, or intake manifold of the VQ30DE.

VQ30DE-K:

See the difference?

hi, sorry for bringing up such old topic but i got a question here..
im from Malaysia, driving Nissan Cefiro A33 VQ30DE and im wondering if my intake manifold is the USIM or 00vi or MEVI (in fact, i cant differentiate between MEVI and 00vi)..

i've check on my car and the IM was black in color just like the 2nd pic posted above but my engine spec wrote VQ30DE only so how do i know whether i had such feature or not? thanks!

You have 00VI. MEVI has a larger plastic cover over it.

Lets make this real easy. All 2000 and 2001 maximas come stock with the 00vi, that is their intake manifold. All 4th gens come with the regular US intake manifold that happens to be silver. That's one of the differences between the vq30de that comes in the 95-99 and the vq30dek that comes in the 00-01 maximas.

ic.. so that means this changing of intake manifold is only the concern of A32 with VQ30DE is that right? thanks

Yes, the 4th gen maximas swap in the intake manifold and the rest of the 00vi from the 5th gen in order to gain some hp. So if you have a 5th gen stop worrying about this

oh ic.. thanks for clarification.. anyway, on paper my VQ30DE only gives 190bhp based on this website:
http://www.nissan.com.my/vehicles/ce...ications1.html

thats y im concerned whether mine is with 00vi or not haha.

btw, the website also stated that this VQ30DE came with Continous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) but i cant find any information related to this.. is this true? afterall, its from official Nissan website

You have a VQ30DEK, which is indeed equipped with the 00VI.

It does NOT have CVTCS.
