Engine ticking

Getting a ticking in the right side of bank 1. Possible valve or lifter issue? I'd appreciate any ideas as to what it could be and suggestions as to how to fix.

Tks,

Bob

It can also be your timing chain tensionner if I understand your issue correctly of course. You might want to check that first... It can save you a lot of money.

To help you will need to provide more information...

Have you had the oil changed recently?
New or different oil filter?
Oil type and/or weight?
Just do it, or has it done it before and just now wanting to ask about it?
Warm start or cold start?
Did it go away, if it was a cold start, once engine warmed up?

More info please...

Engine ticking

Ticking sound is noticed after I driven for a while and I hear it when the car is idling. Oil is good with correct vescosity. Premium fuel always used.

Ticking noise aint good bro...How many miles on the car??

Something like that coming from the engine in the 3.0 or 3.5 Liter is usually the timing chain tensioner. I had a 93 maxi sports edition. It came with a timing chain and i had a ticking noise too at first then after awhile it sounded more like a helicopter noise lol. No mechanic would touch it. I ran with that noise for a yr and a half before the chain finally snapped hehe. Now i got a 97 maxi.

My boy had the same minor tick and got his timing chain done for 1500 bucks at nissan and they warranty it for a year. If u decide to fix (which i think u def should) dont worry u got time since the noise jus started and isnt that loud cuz trust me over time it will get crazy loud. Make sure they change the water pump and lower tensioner as well as the chain tensioners and chain as well. U might as well do everything while they have the engine open. Told my boy to do the same thing and he did. After that u will be good.

Good luck man
