Trac light, Check Engine, Slip light on but, NO CODES?
The other day as I was accelerating to pass a slower car the engine suddenly lost power, the check engine, trac and slip lights all illuminated. I pulled to the side of the road and shut down the car. I waited a moment and restarted. Restart was normal and all lights were out. Upon acceleration to normal speed, the lights came on again and power dropped off.
I then realized it was happening at 2400 RPM and I confirmed I was in Limp Home Mode.
I took the car to my normal mechanic and he confirmed all connections in and around the O2, MAF sensor, etc. He cleaned all contacts and confirmed the connections were good.
Now for the weird part: Operation is identical to a failed MAF sensor. (I have been down that road with two different 300 ZX’s over the years.) There are NO CODES for any failures showing up.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I’m almost ready to take it to a dealer, but am looking for alternatives first.
