s14 240sx or 02 maxima

I hav a question that i would like to ask everyone. Recently my car was jus towed sitting in front of my friends house by the police, i don't know for what reason, had to pay my own money to get it out of impound so im looking towards cash settlement/sueing them. If you were in my position (i hav a 240sx and a focus) knowing tax returns is around the corner and if i was to win this case (which hopefully happens) and me saving my money from now untill tax return comes up, would you

A. mod the 240sx
i was thinking about gettin the ams shortblock for $2699 which is good for 500hp if i slap a turbo and good tune
( http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/N...ors-heads.html )
B. sell both cars to get an 02 6speed maxima

as of right now, the ka motor in the 240sx is done so its jus sitting infront of my house. people are telling me if i mod the 240, i'll be faster cause its lighter, but at the same time maxima will destroy a 240 stock for stock. its also going from rear wheel to front. at the same time, ever since 03 when i was 14years old i always loved that max....from the style to that vq35 power it lays down, especially on a roll. i kno this is a maxima fourm but if you were in my position, what will you guys really do. thanks

i personally don't like the looks of a 240, although that's just me.

get rid of the focus thats just degrading with its crap spi engine

get that 6spd max. That VQ35 tops. 7 years later, its still being used.

If you want a project car, keep the 240, but if you want to DD and have power too take the max.

Agree with A33. If you want a project go with the 240.

If you want a daily driver with good power and the ability to haul people comfortably the the Max is the way to go.

Start by not thinking of tax returns as found money. Get your head straight and amend your withholding so that you zero-out at tax time. And don't expect free money from a frivolous lawsuit. If you're old enough to pay taxes and drive, then it's time to man-up to responsible behavior.

I drove a 240SX for 7 years between 1992 and 1999. It was a fantastic car. While it doesn't nearly have the practicality and power of the Maxima, it was amazingly well-balanced, and a great car for cone racing.

I totally do the same thing you are doing right now. I plan ahead for money I dont have yet. but the biggest thing about that is I DONT BUY anything be fore I have the CASH for it. so if your gunna be getting something different just make sure you have the money in hand before you commit to it. you have a working car it sounds like (the focus?) so if you wiat long enough you will have enought money to buy a Maxima(a very sound purchase) 5.5gen was my dream car for years and I was watching the market very close so I knew exactly what to do and how much to pay when I bought one. and just this past month I finally bought one once I had the cash. and now I am livin the dream. I love this thing everything about it.

good luck
jake

Yeah, the 240SX was RWD. They even had a 4-wheel steering setup on the SSE Convertible, but that never really caught on.

Man, that is the one car I regret letting go. Good times...

4 wheel steering...now that would have been nice on my 93 Altima. that thing had a turn radius like a semi truck

I was gonna buy a 240. IMO unless you're building it I'd rather have a Maxima.
