Bye Bye Maxima and great forum!!!

As of last night, my 2003 Maxima SE is officially sold. After 3 months on the market, i was able to find a good buyer, who would hopefully take good care of the car.

It had 130k miles and it was a very solid car. If it was not for the noisy ride, basic rear suspension and lack of options, i would have kept it longer. Great car that gave me very few problems for the last 6 years. Never driven anything more reliable. I did take good care of it and i guess it paid back.
I will miss my Maxima, the unique look, the sheer power from the VQ and how light on its feet it felt.

My new ride (2006 Acura RL) offers A LOT more than the Maxima in terms of cool toys, luxury, stereo, AWD, etc....but it is a 'big car' that has more luxury but less "fun".

I want to thank this forum again for all the help i got over the years. I met great people here who offered tons of knowledge! I learned a lot and i tried to help as much as i could!

I will still be around, mostly on the "for sale" section. I have a few small things i need to sell and a set of four 2003 GLE wheels with good snow tires on them.

Good luck to everyone!

+1
There is nothing nissan is offering that I would even consider buying. The new maxima and altima are just not exciting enough for me. Looks like a Subaru WRX or Mazdaspeed3 will be the next car in my driveway.

No love for the AWD infiniti? But i guess the price tag is a little much for a brand new car haha

And questionable styling, imo, on the honda. Looks like they're trying to copy benz or something (but I do think the G35 sedans suck).

Good Luck with it.

I've owned Acura's for almost 20 years before my Max and they are good cars. They are probably a little more trouble free than a Max, but our's have more sheer power.

When I was looking about a year ago for the car I would have loved a 04 TL with a 6 speed. And they are just as hard to find as a Max. And price wise they were several K higher than my 02.

Since buying the Max I have fell in love with her and am completely happy with it and this Forum.

A place like this almost makes the car for me.

agreed. Maxima's seem to become less of a sports car and more luxury.

I could not find a decent G35x with the options i wanted for the right price. Plus, the G35 interior cannot compare to the RL. Too basic, too plastic, IMO.
I liked the G37x a lot more, but they were way too expensive. (almost $10k more than my Certified '06 RL)

I also looked at the M35x. Nice car. I did not like the gas mileage and the noisier(compared to RL) interior. After the Maxima, i wanted a quiet, smooth car. The M35x i found was not cheap either.

I do not like the exterior styling on any of the NEW Acura sedans. Not sure who designed them but they need to be fired!!
However, i do like the older (2005-2008) TL and the RLs a lot.

110% agreed! I remembered seeing a white 2008/2007 Acura TL for the first time it was very beautiful, and the kind of beautiful that you just HAVE to keep looking back at until you leave the immediate area.

But the new ones are too, bulky and futuristic looking. I don't know how to describe it, but it doesn't look sleek and compact like the older models.
