MAF sensor Replacement

I have seen alot of different comeents about replacing a MAF sensor I would like to know exactly what is needed when I replace it. I have come to the conclussion the this is the problem with my car bcause it is running like S***. Some days it runs smooth until I get 50 or 60 but don't give it gas because when it shifts down to a lower gear to pass a car it does NOTHING! It seems as if it is stalling or hung up in the gear. I let off the gas some and it will shift to the next gear. The final straw was when I put 2 gallons of 100 octane fuel in the car and it did not make a difference. So I have come to the ORG for assistance. I rolling up on 150k and I want to get my baby running full speed before it gets cold. Any assistance and pointers given will be appreciated.
  1. Is there any part number or engine number needed to order the correct MAF?
  2. Should I reset the ECU or take it to the dealer to have that done.
  3. Find Dave B. on the ORG and order the part from him.(He comes highly recommended)

I just replaced mine a couple of months ago. Got it from Dave Burnett, he has correct part # and good price. I took mine to stealership for programing and was told there was no up date for ECM, but an O2 sensor problem. They wanted $500 to replace sensor. I done it for $100 and 30 minutes time.
