shifter trim
how do i take it off? i know this is probably dumb but seriously i feel like im going to break it...in my 4th gen i just pulled and "pop" came right out. is there a trick or am i just missing something?
also when i install the shifter bushings do i need to take out the entire center console? in the pics on ES's website it shows the car with it out?

Yes, take out the entire center console. There are two screws in back on the sides, one behind the ashtray (seriously!), and a few more... I forget where. Oh wait, those are accessible once you remove the trim piece. And there's one inside the console glove box.
And don't drive around with your hazard switch unplugged. Your turn signals are wired into that hazard switch, and won't function without it.

Work from the back edge of the trim, pushing the leather down a little with your fingers over the edge of the trim piece, then gently pull it upward to unclip it. From there you'll figure the rest out. (By "back edge", I mean the edge of the trim piece towards the back of the car, not the front.)
