Wierd Auto shifting

The auto tranny has this wierd behavior, hopefully I can put it in the right words. Receent jobs on car are new tires, cleaned revoln sensor, cleaned MAF and drain/fill tranny with DexVI.

1) When I accelerate a bit hard, looks like the traction on one tire is less than the other, kind of wierd feeling where one axle is running faster than the other, or in other words, a feeling that the axle is in air.
2) Uphill shift, the car would look like it is slipping (it happens sometimes and sometimes it wouldn't).
3) Gear bang in 1->2.

Any ideas if the tranny is on it way out or should I go back to thicker DexronIII type ATF.

If the shifts flare (over rev) once the car is warmed up and under load (like going uphill), it is usually an indication of an internal problem. You can try a drain and fill, adding a quart of Lucas Transmission Fix, which noticably reduced the cold weather 2-3 slip in my car.

I am not a great fan on anything other than ATF in my tranny.

But I have to get realistic, the tranny has 170K and I want to drive it for another year or so since we have payments for another one. 2 car payments at the same time is non-concievable with this lousy economy.

I will drain and fill with Castrol Import MV ATF and put the Lucas tranny fix. Hopefully it take me thro another year.
