Went to Import drags at Palmdale yesterday

I went to Import Drags and saw a couple of 7 second runs. One was a twin turbo V-8 Lexus body, tube frame car.He went 7.60 at 180mph.The other car was a turbo V-6(maybe twin turbo)Ford I think. He went 7.67 at 179mph.There were about 4 other cars that went mid 8's.Not bad for a cold breezy day at 2800 elevation. There was even a Neon that did mid 9's.So I don't want to here any crap from some of you guys that claim to have a quick car and it runs 15 seconds.Yes, I know you drive a street car,but believe me you don't know what fast is.The fastest 4 cyl. Ford Focus car was there, his record is 7.44,and the motor is a turbo 2.1 twincam Cosworth that is 31 years old. That engine came out of a 1970 english Ford rally car.Enough.

That's impressive!, I always thought Palmdale was higher elevation by the way people talk about that track. Gotta love the smell of burnt rubber and race gas on a cold winter morning mmm mmm good.

Re: oh yeah??

Well, I was at the NHRA Winter Nationals in Pamona a few weeks ago. And I saw several 3 second runs. Top speed I saw was 329 MPH. Watching these races on TV can't even compare to being there!

Obviously you are a newbie that really doesn't have a clue at all,I've been going to car races for longer than you've been alive probably.Over 20 years, and for your info freak, the top fuel quickest run ever is 4.47 seconds, for the quarter mile.So shut your trap the flies are getting out!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, the title of "Maxima Fanatic" means that he has more posts than the title of "Newbie", as suprising as that may be. So the f*ck what if a $100k Ford Focus runs 7's? Wow. Now I'm really impressed. People here talking about their 14 and 15 second times are happy because their daily driver has shown itself faster than most others, not to mention styling and all that other jazz. That's one of the things that makes a car enthusiast happy is to know his car can outperform others in some categories. I don't know of anyone on here who relishes the idea that they may someday line up against John Force in his NHRA dragster on Mayberry Blvd. Did you run a 17 or something and need room to vent?

Besides, none of it matters anyways. Steve has us all beat now that he's running 2's. Guess he found the ultimate type R sticker...

Those times sound much better than what I had posted. It has been about 3 weeks since I went, and I have slept since then. I don't know about you, but when I sleep, I forget everything that happened the day before .

Ok, sure, let me hop in the car and I'll see you in 3 days. Why are you so ****ed with your Max? Do you have 5spd or auto? You know autos are slow, right? I can't imagine why someone would go onto their car forum and b!tch about the other owners, their times, and their cars. You're an idiot!

Jeepers, you're one funny guy, and not very good at dodging questions. What do you have, and what do you run? And WHY are you hating on your Maxima brethren? These are the most civilized, knowledgable, courteous, and and decent bunch of guys on any forum anywhere. And you come in here and tell us not to be happy about our times because we can't compete with 7 second supercars. My response to that-go and f*ck yourself. Leave the .org alone.

Oh, boy. Misguided emotions, anyone?

Listen, obviously this little b!tch is on the rag, so just ignore her.

Maybe she'll go take some midol and come back in a week and play nice.
