ECU replacement Questions
ECU replacement Questions
So via my drove through water thread, the dealer says my ECU is fried and I need a replacement.
So what do i need to know to find a correct replacement. Mine is an 02 SE AT, do i need the VIN # or the production date, or what?
TIA again guys!

go through insurance, covers any other electrical issues you may run into, esp after being involved in a flood damage.
you would need to remove ecu and find the part # on it.
Dealer parts dept can give you the part # via VIN #.

Mine is at about 105k now so the 80k has passed. I ended up purchasing scottygill's ECU that he had for sale and will have it at the dealer to flash and install Friday with a little luck. Thanks again Scott!
Cheers man, im glad that worked out, i bought that off ebay a few years ago as a backup for somereason haha, I think i might have sold it to you for a little less than i paid for it, but im glad to help you out and get another max back on the road.
