Struts

I have a 2001 maxima, and it is lowered on maxspeed lowering springs with stock struts. I can't take the ride anymore it drives way to rough. So i am going to put back on my stock springs and replace my struts, for the smoother ride. Im not looking to spend more then $275-$300 for struts. Any ideas for me and also is there any good deals out there right now?

If your stock struts are not blown why replace them, just put the stock springs back in....

I dont think there anything in your price range if $300 is your ceiling, unless USED...

Even HP Blues will run you $350 (new), for a lill more $$ why not put the HR's on Illuminas $475 (new) and dail them in..

you will have to replace the struts.. and it is going to cost you some money...Illuminas as the fellow Org said.. it is going to hit you with 450 and the blues like 150 less.. do a search and ebay is your friend...., I'm running maxspeed with Illuminas and it not that hard "rough"... IMO... good luck in your hunt.

Are KYB Gr-2 struts any good? I ordered a pair of front struts for my car and will have them installed next week.

They're a little stiffer than stock and act as a stock replacement. If your pairing those struts with stock springs they'll be fine. If your going to lower the car, I'd get some Illuminas if I were you.

Thanks for the reply. Not lowering the car, sticking with stock springs. Good to know I should be okay.

With stock springs they will definitely be good, and just a tad stiffer.

why not just replace teh struts and leave teh maxspeed springs on? ur main problem is blown struts, not necessarily the springs.

I used Monroe Sensitrak and they definitely ride softer. Also, use a touring tire if you want a softer quieter ride. Goodyear Assurance tires ride very quietly and hold a balance well.
