For those of you who don't know what XM is, it is a satellite radio feed. It sounds great and I highly recommend this to everyone here! It is only 9.99 a month and you get like 150 stations of continous music! Sounds like DSS quality wise!

AWSOME...didn't know they had one for cars...wow...that's really cool. Isn't it better to burn CD's though

I think I am gonna like this better because it is digital like cd's and you don't have to worry about scratching or skipping! I can't wait to take road trips!

How bad was the install? I've been looking at the "portable" Sony unit. I see the antenna is extra and has to be mounted somewhere, but heard it rumored it works fine mounted in the trunk? How do you like it, other than sound quality?

I was recently at my local mobile sound shop and they said they pretty soon they should have an antenna that goes on the back glass. I think that I am going to wait for that. I don't want a big clunky antenna on the top of my car.

Is the music censored?
If so, I think I'm going to stick to CD's.

Cool! Is there a website that give details and channel listing? How does it work if it doesn't have a direct line of site constantly like DSS?

http://www.xmradio.com

All the new Pioneer and Sony head units are XM ready. You just need a decoder and antenna and then you can controll it from your deck.

FCC does not censor satellite radio broadcasting. Only analog AM/FM. There are comedy stations, hard core rap station and so fourth that does not bleep out bad language. I can't keep enough of the Alpine decks w/XM in stock.
