napa or carquest makes cans of paint with your nissan color code, takes about 20 minutes. Go there, tell them the code and voila, new spray paint. You can even ask for clear coat mixed in, and if you are painting plastic you can ask for flex agent.

Some Sherwin William location do mix automotive paints (but not all are setup for it) as most just carry house hold paints, best to call the locations in your area first, you will need your car paint code for them to get the mix correct.

spray can paint is not very durable and you'll have a hard time getting a nice even pattern put on the whole hood, sprays can paint is good for small stuff or touch ups but definitely not to repaint the whole hood. Bring it to a shop for projects this big. You will need more than one can to do the whole hood, spray can paint is not cheap either.

If you just want something quick and inexpensive for now try Maaco. If you bring them the hood they should be pretty decent about painting it. I agree with another poster on here painting it yourself is futile and a waste of money. Maaco is ok if 1. you dont expect them to tape things off 2. your not expecting a concours quality finish

well guys I'm going black.. and I'm half way thru with the painting of the hood.. so far so good.. (not professional) but pretty good.. when i get it done ill post some pictures.. but i have a question.. i want to get rid of ALL the chrome from my car.. door handles, and the thing around the doors.. i want to paint my grille black.. but my dilemma is.. should i paint the whole grille including the nissan emblem or that would be ugly? has anyone done it before?

thanks!!!!

Pedro
