Problem with headlights and HID fog lights ('03 TE)

Sick of these little glitches that pop up all the time with this car.

1st problem: Im running 8k HIDs in the lowbeams with OEM ballasts but sometimes while driving the left side light will randomly turn off by itself. Then I proceed to turn the lights off and on again and it turns on. It cant be a bulb problem or ballast issue then I presume? Its annoying because I got pulled over since the cop saw the light out then I flicked it on/off for him and it was fine. He let me go but told me to get it fixed.

2nd problem: My 6k fogs just stopped working. Im running a relay to the battery but I dont suspect that has a thing to do with it. Heres the weird part though. When I turn my fogs on, I hear a "pop" noise coming from the rear speakers...ALL THE TIME . Any idea on this one? Btw, both fogs dont come on and they are relatively new as well.

Any insight? Thank you in advance.

1. Swap bulb to other side and see if same problem occur
2. The signal to the relay harness might be bad i.e. rusted, or fuse is blown. Check where you connect the factory fog wires to the relay harness.

I had the same problem with my 8000K bulbs on my lowbeams. I switched to 6000K and the problem went away....

No ideas about the second question

I had to replace a faulty relay on my 55w foglight kit. Was having problems with foglights flickering and randomly turning off.

Also check your grounds.

Does anyone else have problems with HID's on their car? I have a 2000 and I have 5000K HID's on it (with relay installed). I only have a problem with my driver side, no matter what ballast I put on there. It makes a loud nasty buzzing sound (not the normal ballast power up buzz) and the headlight doesn't turn on. The only times it turns on is when it doesn't make that nasty sound. Could it be that I have to replace a fuse somewhere?

The fact that I have a relay for the fogs and the fact that both fogs went out at the same time leads me to believe its a relay problem indeed.

bad ground, bad connection to bulb, swap bulbs to other side and test.

The relay is actually a replaceable item itself, it's a 4 or 5 pin SPDT relay you can find in some stores.

Check the plugs from the harness to the ballasts. Unclip them, clean out any dirt then make sure they are on nice and tight. I had an issue with a ground near the drivers fender going into the fuse box. Each of the headlights run on a separate fuse so they can do different things. Check the fuses themselves and the ground going into that box.
