Just beat an A4...barely

My first ever "race" with my Max--a stoplight 0-60 with an Audi A4. Don't know if it was the 1.8T or the V6. We were basically neck-and-neck through first gear, he was inching ahead ever so slowly, and he lifted to shift to second and I got him easily then, 2 carlengths. Only took it up to 60, I save it for the track

Nice Kill!!! I raced my friend who had the Jetta 1.8T and took him by about 2 car lengths when we both shut it down cause of traffic.

Those 1.8 liters can be tricked out though. I ran one a few weeks ago and he spanked me good. We pulled over and he told me he had a down pipe, chip and I think headers.

The Jetta I raced was bone stock but I know what you mean about them being tricked out.

the 2002 A4 is fast...

according to car and driver, they gave it 0-60 in 7seconds, thats an automatic. it has 220hp(4cyl or v6?), and tiptronic auto, but they said that the car is faster if you just leave it in D, when they shifted it, they got 0-60 in 7.7seconds. that car is pretty fast, and i think its heavier than the max by a couple hundred pounds! i could be wrong though, i will check my car and driver when i get home for the details.

2 car lengths to 60 is excellent. I would say better than "barely" beating him.

a guy on audiworld.com with a turbo upgrade (K-04) to the 1.8t
claims he's outrunning S4's on a regular basis......
and no one on the S4 forum disputes it
(that's mid 5 second 0-60 with the turbo upgrades)

Nice story, er...race.

Are you auto? If you're auto and the A4 was modded...the kill is even better.

2 lengths is a good whooping...so be proud!

Well I say barely beat him because, like I said, he was inching past me in first gear. I do have an auto, so I gained on him when he went to shift. I think he may have let off a little after that, but I don't know, and if he did it wasn't by much cuz he was still coming hard
His car looked stock, we don't get many modded cars up my way. Besides, he was an older guy, I think he was just irritated with the morning commute.
