Just Passed 200K miles

Last Thursday was monumental (for me). Max passed 200k on the way home from work. Engine gets the same mpg as the day I drove it off the lot (20). Love my friggen car. 47 oil changes of M1 synth 10W30. Fram oil filters, nissan air filters, and thats it....everything else is stock. Hoping and expecting another 50K. 200k.....thats like 6 american cars.

damn 320km that's quite a bit lol how much do you drive? I drive about 60km/day (about 37.5 miles) and my car only has 87,xxx km (54,xxx miles) no problems whatsoever except my alt and my rad both went but thats due to low usage from previous owners

Congras, wish my car will hit 200K someday. 20 mpg since brand new is kind of low? I heard Fram oil filters arn't that good but I guess it did its job.

92 miles round trip for work. Heard the same about the frams, but I change oil every 5K religiously.

I have over 250k... and mine is a 2000. Also, in terms of air filters, I suggest that you get a K&N Air Filter, I have one in my 05 mustang and they are great I haven't got one for the maxima yet, but I plan to soon

Don't know why but I kinda feared 200k as the 'end'

But you guys definitely give me confidence as in, 200,xxx is not 'end-of-life' (granted you take care of your baby)

I've had an eye for newer Nissans but I'm not even close to wanting to get rid of the Max. I'll keep climbing for 200k

How funny I just turned 200K last week myself driving home from work. Since I just had to get my tranny rebuilt I'm going to keep it for a while and shoot for that 300k mark. Would expect to get there by 2014.

Over 205K on my 2002 Maxima

It is nice to read about the 250K some of you drove in a Maxima.

My 2002 has over 205K and still running great. Never had any problems and all I had to do is repair due to typical wear (brakes, belt, tires).

When the mileage got higher, I started to use premium gas only.

What a wonderful car. I recently bought Audi, but keep the Maxima in case the Audi has problems.

As I was wondering why this was bumped from over 2 years ago, I stopped in my tracks because...

That's quite an accomplishment, that's more than my 95.

I've got 181K on my 2000, I just had to replace my battery, alternator, serpentine belt, and all four tires. Although, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need new rear struts soon, I think I can hear them banging in the wheel wells when I go over bumbs.

Sorry, I didn't know that we weren't allowed to bump old threads.

There's a guy with a Volvo nearing 3 MILLION (original engine but I believe it's been rebuilt twice). 500K I can believe.

there's a guy on this forum that has over 400k on the original motor, so that's not to far fetched. it really all depends on if it was well taken care of and not beat on daily.

I couldn't imagine owning the same vehicle long enough to hit 400K miles. You must really have to love your car. I have 181K, and I would be surprised if I make it to 200K, before I get bored and trade up to a 5.5 Gen Max. (6 speed of course)

Once you get your gen5.5 6MT, you will want to own it long enough to hit 400K miles.

Only 135K on mine. I expect to replace the engine and transmission well before 200K. But barring a major collision, I expect to keep the shell for a long, long time.

I'm about to turn 185K on mine. This has been the highest mileage car i've owned, and it does worry me a bit because of that. However, I'm glad to see many Maxima's are holding up well and beyond 200K, so i'm not too nervous about keeping the car longer since I can't afford to replace it at the moment with my current employment situation.

I'm sure your right, and that would want to keep the 5.5 Gen for longer. I just really want the the 3.5L engine for the higher horsepower, and the sixth gear, just for the sake of having six gears.

I wish my car had a 6th gear. Turning 3,000 rpm's @ 75 mph kinda sucks...

I'm up to 190k miles on my 5.5 (306,000km). Precats were removed a long time ago, so it's running great right now, and I expect that trend to continue for a long time. Only premium fuel is used, and I change oil every 3000 miles.

At 194K right now on my 03 GLE and have 194K miles worth of paint chips in my hood to show for it. My only regret having owned it for 9 years now was not getting a manual transmission (oh, and letting my wife drive it ;-) kidding, of course. kind of).

Oh yeah, I would never buy a car with an automatic transmission. Just too boring.

I was soured by my old 5 spd Mustang after 2 clutch jobs and a tranny rebuild in a fairly short amount of time. I let it get to me
