What size belt would I need (AC Compressor)

What size belt would I need if I wanted to bypass my ac compressor? My compressor just conked out on me, and I haven't had AC in my car for quite some time anyway. I don't really feel like investing in this car anymore so if I could get away with throwing a smaller belt on, that would be great.

You will have to get a piece of string and actually simulate it and then take it to your local BM store and hand it to the guy in the counter and ask the nearest size belt that fits a Max but only that long. Trial and error. Or else chill and wait for somebody to spill it.

Researching for this belt size on the chance that I may bypass the A/C. Not sure if I'm going to actually do this... just researching at the moment.

Bumping this thread in case anyone has the answer.

How do you know it is your AC Compressor that gave out? I get no cold AC (it feels like a fan). I'm trying to figure out what it is that gave out.

Sorry i coud not post everything i had to say about the belt earlier my cell phone was dying on me.that is the number belt they gave me that was closest to the piece of clothes line i brought to the store as a template.when you goto tighten the tensioner down your not going to be able to go as far as it was before i think it only needed about a inch and a half before the belt was tight.Im just putting this in here because with our tensioner it is really easy to over tighten it and kill the bearings in the alt and tension pulley BTW i did not like the way the Dayco tension pulley replacement felt when i swapped it out.i recomend getting the OE part if you need it and a nice new stainless steel flanged nut to replace the soft one that comes with the OE unit.
